After the Google’s announcement to the new quality score improvements in adwords, some of the advertisers started seeing that feature in their accounts. According to this new changes the “Inactive For Search” will be no longer available in Google Adwords and the “Minimum Bid” option will be changed as “First page Bid”. “Minimum Bid” is nothing but the minimum amount which adword system sets for a particular keyword to jump in to auction on Google search result ad space. It will be determined by itz keyword quality, CTR, landing page relevancy and some other factors of quality score.

The keywords with less than “Minimum Bid” will be marked as inactive for search and will not enter in to Google ad space. But after the years rolled by introducing this feature, now Google realized that minimum bidding option will not work out as it is stopping those keywords which may trigger ads to different highly relevant query matches. So thinking on some newly needed, they are introducing to replace their static per-keyword Quality Scores with a system that will evaluate an ad’s quality each time it matches a search query.

So that no more keyword will be inactive for search and all those are now having change to enter in to the auction to get placed on the sponsored space. But the thing is AdWords will use the most accurate, specific, and up-to-date performance information when determining whether an ad should be displayed. Your ads will be more likely to show when they’re relevant and less likely to show when they’re not. This means that Google users are apt to see better ads while you, as an advertiser, should receive leads which are more highly qualified.

As the “Minium Bid” is not required on this migration it has been changed as “First page Bid”. First page bids are an estimate of the bid it would take for your ad to reach the first page of search results on Google web search. They’re based on the exact match version of the keyword, the ad’s Quality Score, and current advertiser competition on that keyword.

Here is the preview of the new changes in adword interface:

If you at once log in to your adword account and wonder on not seeing these changes, do not worry… Stay cool… Google planned to roll out this features slowly on the advertisers account to test.

Google just now added a cool feature in the adwords keyword tool which every advertisers needed for a long time. Tools like Overture, Microsoft adcenter had the similar feature already and just now google realized the usefulness of it to the advertisers. According to this new change, now we can have access to approximate number of search in Google for particular keywords in previous month and also average approximate search volume. This helps the advertisers to find out High-Traffic Keywords which brings more potential visitors to their website and plan the budget accordingly.

Yes, of course a Google adwords account, but managed from your MCC (My Client Center) Account. If you do not have MCC account or not aware of that, then try to create one or learn about it. You should be at least having basic skill in managing a successful campaign and interested to learn about the advance techniques of adwords. Now are you ok with all the above?

What is the requirement to appear for GAP exam?

Manage at least one adword accounts for at least 90 Days in your MCC.

Total spent should be $1000 or equivalent local currency on those 90 days.

Prepare the advanced skill by hand on method and by learning from adwords learning center.

Appear for exam only after you meet the above criteria to not get disappointed.

How to prepare for the Google exam?

You may feel that you have good knowledge in adwords but when you learn through the learning center definitely you will come to know that you were not aware of many things. So I suggest every body to go through the learning center and then work out the learned stuffs in your account. You may have question that which is best to learn among the multimedia lesson or Text based lesson. All I can say is, which is best for you to learn basically? visual or only by reading. Well, reading was best for me and I choose text lesson. Any how both covers the same, so do not worry about it.

How will be the exam?

You will be given 90 mins and more than hundred questions. In my case, I got 117 questions. Questions will be with the mixture of easy to hard level. If you just have hand on experience on adwords with basic understanding, you will be able to answer only the easier question which is really not enough to pass out the exam. Be assured that you can reach good score near by to the 50%, but only your advanced understanding on adwords will help you to get at least 75% which is the minimum score to pass out.

What are all the precaution to take the exam?

Once you pay and take the exam, your clock starts from that time. So you cannot stop the time at any cause once it started. Be sure to sit at the right place where you do not have power cut, Internet down or any other factors disturb you. While taking the exam, questions will be displayed one by one and you will have to answer it on real time basis. All are choose it type questions, some times with radio button and some time with check boxes. Be careful some time you need to select two or three answers. If you are not sure about the answer of particular question you have an option to mark it as review. If you do that after the completion if you have time, you can check that answers later. I advice you to keep going by answering the questions you know very well and mark the remaining ones to review later. Once you submit the answers your result is displayed at once. Do not really worry if you are fail in that, this is not your graduation exam. You can always retake the exam once in every 15 days.
